The sender of the booking confirmation emails is the default system email address. This is specified in Sysadmin > Application Settings. You can change this email address to another person for periods when you will be out of the office.
If you wish to have the sender be the vehicle's Primary Contact instead of the default system email address, follow these steps:
- Go to Sysadmin > Application Settings
- Find the option for "Booking emails come from Primary Contact?:"
- Set the value to Yes or No.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
Related Question - can we change how the email appears in the Inbox?
When sending from the default system email address, it is quite common to just enter an email address, such as firstname.lastname@example.org
This is perfectly acceptable, however, when the email arrives at the user's inbox it will display this email address, not a nicely formatted name like sender - "Homer Simpson"
To make the booking confirmation emails have a nicely formatted name in the user's inbox, type the system email address is this manner:
firstname lastname <email@example.com>
To use Homer as an example, you would enter:
Homer Simpson <firstname.lastname@example.org>
So, that format is:
firstname [space] lastname [space] [less-than-symbol] email address [greater-than-symbol]
